Driven to action in response to the volitile (and often downright sexist) political atmosphere that surrounded our most recent presidential election, Beautiful Rights founder Kristen Leonard began developing the beauty brand shortly after November 8th's results were called.

Rooted in female empowerment and resistance to injustice, it's safe to say New York-based Beautiful Rights is straight up steeped in girl power.

Blurring the lines between beauty and activism, the brand donates 20% of all sales to organizations that support women's and/or minority rights (i.e. ACLU, Emily's List, Planned Parenthood).

As of now, the (cruelty-free!) brand's only products are three irreverently-named lip shades: Gloss Ceiling, Politically Pout, and Pantsuit Pink, that latter of which was dubbed the official lip color at this year's Women's March.

Beautiful Rights is such a badass example of feminism and democracy in action, and we can't wait to see what else they have in store.
